What is a California Guard Card?

A California Guard Card is a state-issued license that lets someone legally work as a security guard in California.

What is required to obtain a California Guard Card?

• Be at least 18 years old         
• Have proof of residency (Drivers license, ID card)
• Undergo a criminal history background check through the CaliforniaDepartment of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
•  Complete the “Power to Arrest” training and “Appropriate Use of Force” training and pass exam.
